Father Travis is an ex-marine who got injured in the war. In 1988, he is the priest of the reservation and the surrounding towns and lives in the little house next to the church on the other side of the cemetery. Initially, Joe and his friends suspect Father Travis of having raped Geraldine, but his war injury later proves his innocence. 

Twelve years later, in 2000, Father Travis tries to navigate the trauma that cuts through the Iron and Ravich family after the death of Dusty. He acts as a psychologist for many of the people in the community. He soon has to admit to himself that he has fallen in love with Emmaline, but he still saves her husband Landreaux from potential danger. In 2003, he is replaced by Father Dick Bohner.
