Josette (born in the mid- to late-eighties) is the teenage daughter of Landreaux and Emmaline. She is silent and less talkative than her sister/best friend, Snow. Like Snow, she has grown into a woman at the end of the novel. She works at Whitey’s bar with her sister. 

Even though the Ravich and Iron families are initially torn apart by the death of Dusty, in the years that follow, Josette befriends Maggie Ravich and the children of the two families grow closer.
